Family Summer of Fun Weekend Planner

The weather forecast for this weekend on the East Coast is finally predicting some long awaited sunshine and warm weather. So it is time to go outside and play. In this weeks planner we highlight some great playgrounds, but first there are some special events going on at a few of New Jersey's State Parks.

Monmouth Battlefield State Park is hosting the 231st Commemoration of the Battle of Monmouth on Saturday, June 27, 2009; 10 am to 5 pm and
Sunday, June 28, 2009; 10 am to 3 pm

One of the largest battles of the American Revolution took place in the fields and forests that now make up Monmouth Battlefield State Park. The park preserves a splendid rural 18th-century landscape of hilly farmland and hedgerows that encompasses miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, picnic areas, a restored Revolutionary War farmhouse and a visitors center.
